BUTTERFLY ROOM

Butterfly Room (3-5 Years)

Our preschool room "butterfly" for the 3-5 years old and the child to staff ratio is 8:1. 


Our preschool is designed to delivering a welcoming, stimulating and fun environment for children to learn and develop before their transition into school. In preschool, child-led and adult-led activities are implemented daily. We focus greatly on independence and learning new skills following children's interests and delivering many additional experiences. 


We provide our children with the space and freedom to cement their understanding and develop the new skills they need to be successful future learners. 

Maths Area

Resources are available to allow for children's mathematical development as they seek patterns, make connections and recognise relationships through finding out about and working with numbers and counting, with sorting and matching and with shapes and measures. 

Literacy

Help to ensure that children have access to a variety of books and literacy tools to practice reading and writing and increase their vocabulary. 

Reading Area

To encourage an early love of books sharing them with a caring adult, handling books, retelling stories, listening skills, discussion skills and love of books. 

Kitchen and Role Play Area

To use available resources to re-enact children's own life experiences, interacting with others and developing social skills as they do so.

Messy Play

To encourage fine motor exploration of objects using all the senses. To explore a range of materials, tool and medias to develop a child's imagination, understanding, manipulating, control and spontaneous expression and creativity.

Sand and Water Area

To explore and water capability and quantities through scientific, mathematical and imaginary, sensory and manipulative experience 

Construction Area

To join build and balance with a variety of construction materials.
